The company has its roots dated back in 1959, the year in which the first processing mill of the group was established by Late Shri Shanabhai Darubhai Patel under the
corporate name Shri Mahalaxmi Pulse Mills. A venture that began with a small hand mill possessing very low processing capacity then has become a big and leading group with five successful establishments under its umbrella over time.
Growth Timeline
1959 : The beginning with Mahalaxmi Pulse Mills.
1969 : Establishment of Saraswati Pulse Mills.
1979 : Ranchhodray Pulse Mills was formed.
1994 : Inception of Tirupati Industries.
1999 : Laxmi Protein Products Pvt. Ltd. (LPPPL) was formed.
2000 : Patel Shanabhai Darubhai & Company - Export Processing Unit was born.
2011 : New state of the art plant with PLC technology Inaugurated.
LPPPL was formed on 11 June, 1999 with the objective of uniting all of above mentioned group firms. With the establishment of its export processing unit in 2000, the group has now consolidated all its processing units to two firms viz - LPPPL and Patel Shanabhai Darubhai & Company.
While LPPPL has been the strong marketing arm of the company in the domestic market, the establishment of our overseas marketing arm & export unit – Patel Shanabhai Darubhai & Co. has made popularity of Laxmi Toor Dal go places beyond Indian boundaries and spread its fragrance across the world. Our well-oiled marketing channel, well-charted logistics set-up and a proactive marketing team of efficient professionals have significantly contributed to this end. Though current government prohibitions on exports of pulses restrict us from serving our clientele abroad, we believe that upon withdrawal of the restrictions, Laxmi Toor Dal will again reach the hearts of the international markets.
